SEF 2nd Ordinary General Assembly Held

On Monday, May 4, 2026, we came together with our delegates at the Şişhane Science Beyoğlu Center and held the 2nd Ordinary General Assembly of the Federation of Cinema Work Owners (SEF).

Following a moment of silence held in memory of the cinema workers we have lost, the General Assembly began with the unanimous election of Sevinç Yeşiltaş, Cansel Karacan, and Mecit Beştepe to the Council Board. The session continued with the opening speech by SEF General Secretary Eylem Akkayalı and the reading of the Activity Report covering the June 2024 – April 2026 period by Chair of the Board Bahriye Kabadayı Dal. After reviewing the copyright efforts, union activities, and the establishment and operations of the federation during the past term, the planned activities for the upcoming period were discussed.

Following the presentation of the Audit Board Report by Audit Board Chair Nazif Tunç, the Assembly moved on to the proposed amendments and motions submitted for consideration. The motions titled “Attendance Fees,” “Rights and Obligations of Federation Membership,” “Membership Fees,” “Amendment Regarding the Federation Share in Article 34 of the Bylaws,” and “Request for Green Passports for Members and Employees of SEF-Affiliated Unions” were discussed and approved. After deliberations on the planned amendments to the bylaws, the amendments were adopted by vote. Subsequently, the “Distribution and Documentation Directive” and the “Disciplinary Directive” were read and approved. Following the presentation of the 2026–27 projected budget by SEF Board Treasurer Orhan Koçak, the budget was unanimously approved.
